Bringing Alpha Graphics from a Computer
Supported Devices and Operating Systems
This feature supports the following device and operating systems:
- Windows 10 or later
- Mac computers with Apple M-series chips
Installing the Software
1.Download the GoStream Overlay software from the official Osee website.
2.Install the software on the computer.
GoStream Overlay Software Interface
1.Mode Item:
- The Mode section is used to select the software working mode
- The software currently supports two modes: NDI & Web Browser.
2.NDI Mode：
- In NDI mode, the software can receive alpha-enabled video signals from an NDI source, such as vMix or ProPresenter.
- Select the required NDI source in the NDI Source section.
3.Web Browser Mode:
- In Web Browser mode, enter a web URL to bring in an alpha-enabled web graphic source, such as UNO Overlays or H2R Graphics.
4.Status Indicator Light:
- The status indicator light shows the current working status of the software:
Off: The software is not working.
Yellow: The software is connecting.
Red: The software is working.
Configuring GoStream Switcher
1.On the GoStream device, go to:
Menu > Inputs > Src Map > In 8
2.Set In 8 to one of the following options:
HDMI Fill+Key Limit (16–235) better for Windows
HDMI Fill+Key Full (0–255) better for Mac
Connecting the Computer to GoStream Switcher
1.Run the GoStream Overlay software and the overlay generation software, such as vMix.
2.Connect the computer to HDMI In 8 on the GoStream Omni 12 ISO using an HDMI cable.
If the computer does not have an HDMI port, use a USB hub, USB-to-HDMI cable, or other suitable HDMI output adapter.
3.After the connection is complete, the image shown in the In 8 window on Multiview will appear green. This is normal.
Mac Computer Settings
1.Open the Mac display settings. Set the secondary display mode to Extended Display.
2.Turn off True Tone on the Mac.
After the settings are complete, alpha-enabled overlays can be brought into the switcher through NDI mode or Web Browser mode.
Windows Computer Settings
1.Open the Windows display settings. Set the secondary display mode to Extend these displays. And please turn off ‘Night Light’ mode.
After the settings are complete, alpha-enabled overlays can be brought into the switcher through NDI mode or Web Browser mode.
Note for Computers with Dedicated Graphics Cards:
- If the computer uses a dedicated graphics card, the final output color may appear incorrect.
- If this occurs, use one of the following methods:
- Adjust the output color settings in the dedicated graphics card control panel.
- Use the HDMI output port on the computer motherboard instead of the HDMI output port on the graphics card.
Keying the Graphics on the Switcher
1.On the GoStream device, set both the DSK Fill source and the DSK Key source to In 8. Enable DSK to key the graphics over the program output.
Example: Using UNO Overlays
This example describes how to bring a web-based overlay from UNO Overlays into the GoStream Omni 12 ISO.
1.Opening UNO Overlays
- Go to the UNO Overlays website.
- Enter the Library. Select a suitable template and open the template control page.
2.Copying the Output URL
- In the template control interface, copy the Output URL.
3.Sending the Overlay to GoStream Overlay
- Open the GoStream Overlay software.
- Set Mode to Web Browser.
- Paste the copied URL into the Web URL field. Press Enter
- Wait until the status indicator light turns red.
4.Checking the Overlay in Multiview
- After the connection is established, the imported overlay will appear in the In 8 window on Multiview.
5.Applying the Overlay to PGM
- Use DSK to key In 8 over PGM.
- The UNO overlay will now appear as a transparent graphic layer on the program output.
